Disney Lorcana Set 2 “Rise of the Floodborn” – New Cards, Products + Disney 100 Collector’s Edition Set

Disney Lorcana Set 2 Rise of the Floodborn - New Cards - Products + Disney 100 Collector's Edition Set

Disney Lorcana’s second set officially has a name: Rise of the Floodborn. It will delve deeper into the lore and how Floodborn characters were created. We have 13 new cards (plus some leaked ones) and a whole range of new products to show off!

On top of that, there is a new Disney 100 Collector’s Edition with exclusive alternate art, borderless cards. It’s sure to become the most collectible item of Disney Lorcana’s first year. Read on for the price, pre-order availability, release date, expected cards, and way more.

Lorcana Set 2 Release Date + Details

Rise of the Floodborn will be released at local game stores and Disney Parks on Friday, November 17th. Large stores and shopDisney will have Lorcana two weeks later on Friday, December 1st. It will have at least 204 new cards with all-new art.

Disney Lorcana Rise of the Floodborn Logo

The layout of the cards hasn’t changed and we can see the same rarities and symbols used. The set number is 2, and the total card number is 204. It’s very likely we’ll also see some more Enchanted cards with cool new art variants on Rise of the Floodborn cards as secret cards above 204.

It doesn’t look like there are any new inks and just six are mentioned on the box arts and press details. There will be at least one new keyword, and the set is likely to contain more Floodborn characters.

After The First Chapter was the first set, it was thought set 2 might be called “Lorcana: Chapter 2”, or “The Second Chapter”. But no, we’re getting cool names.

The French version of the set will be called L’Ascension de Floodborn, and the German version will be called Aufstieg Der Flutgestalten. They will be getting all of these products, though no new languages are expected until at least set 3.

Lorcana Set 2 Products

Rise of the Floodborn products will include a booster box, sleeved and un-sleeved booster packs, an Illumineer’s Trove, two Starter Decks, and two styles for playmats, deck boxes, and deck sleeves. Instead of the Gift Set, there is something very cool – read on.

Rise of the Floodborn Booster Box + Packs

The booster box comes with 24 unsleeved packs and looks the same size as set 1, with a new art design. It features Raya, the Queen of Hearts, the Beast, Merlin, and Tiana. Pack RRP is $5.99 in the US, or $143.76 for the box (though technically they don’t have an RRP).

Hopefully, the seal and design will be corrected to improve on the faults of the first. Unfortunately, it is fairly easy to open a booster box from The First Chapter and take out packs. We’ll be writing a full article on how to check your booster box isn’t tampered with soon™.

There are three booster pack designs with Raya, the Queen of Hearts, and the Beast on them. Each booster pack contains 12 cards and probably comes with another random art card from a new set. We think the new art card will be of the Raya from the front and center of the trove/booster box like with Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor from the first set.

Rise of the Floodborn Illumineer’s Trove

The Trove for Lorcana set 2 looks similar to the first in size and contents. Again, it’s a great way to get a decent amount of packs, with a nice box to store and sort your decks and spares. The RRP for the trove is $49.99.

It comes with: –

  • A storage box (The Trove itself)
  • 2 deck boxes – Likely simple cardboard like The First Chapter
  • 8 Booster Packs
  • 15 Game Tokens
  • A Player’s Guide

The Player’s Guide that comes with the Trove (if it’s like the first) will have an overview of the lore, a few highlighted cards, some strategy, and then some cool combos.

It will also have a collector’s list of every card, with a box to check if you have the standard, foiled, or another version (for Enchanted or promo versions). Very handy.

Rise of the Floodborn Starter Decks

There are just two starter decks in the Rise of the Floodborn product range. Both are two ink combos that weren’t in The First Chapter starters. They will have 60 cards – two of which are foiled – with a booster pack from the new set, plus quickstart rules and tokens.

The Amber and Sapphire deck features The Queen – Commanding Presence and Gaston – Intellectual Powerhouse as the foils. The Amethyst deck’s foils are Merlin – Shapeshifter and Tiana – Celebrating Princess. RRP for the starter decks is $16.99.

Lorcana’s Rise of the Floodborn release will come with a few cool accessories similar to what we had with The First Chapter. So far, no card portfolios have been announced.

  • Two Playmats – $19.99 RRP – Winnie The Pooh – Hunny Wizard + art of an unknown Beast card (more below)
  • Two Deckboxes – $5.99 RRP – Mulan and Sisu – Both unknown
  • Two Sets of Card Sleeves – $9.99 RRP – Mulan and Sisu – The same as the deck boxes

There is no news on Rise of the Floodborn pins or a Lorcana League set 2/second season kit yet.

Disney Lorcana: Disney 100 Collector’s Edition

Disney Lorcana Disney 100 Collectors Edition
Disney Lorcana Disney 100 Collector’s Edition – The box set includes six borderless alternate art cards and four Rise of the Floodborn packs

The Gift Set for set 2 will be a special edition called Disney Lorcana: Disney 100 Collector’s Edition. It will have an RRP of $49.99, quite a bit more than the previous Gift Set which was $29.99 in the US.

From the wording on the official site, it seems like the Disney100 set might only be available from December 1st, not at the launch in LGS on November 17th. We will confirm.

It will contain six exclusive foil decoration cards taken from both The First Chapter and Rise of the Floodborn. Each has alternate art by artists from Walt Disney Animations Studios, with a full no-border design, and the artist’s signature in the card art.

  • Mickey Mouse – Friendly Face – A new card from Rise of the Floodborn with art by Mark Henn
  • Elsa – Gloves Off – A new card from Rise of the Floodborn with art by Brittney Lee
  • Genie – Powers Unleashed – An alternate art from The First Chapter with art by Eric Goldberg
  • Stitch – Abonimation – An alternate art from The First Chapter with art by Alex Kupershmidt
  • Maleficent – Uninvited – An alternate art from The First Chapter with art by Lorelay Bové
  • Maui – Demigod – An alternate art from The First Chapter with art by Bill Schwab

Are the Disney100 Collector’s Edition Cards Enchanted?

They look almost exactly like Enchanted cards except the bottom border isn’t black, it’s rainbow. The numbering also isn’t higher than the normal sets (like Enchanted) so they are instead promo cards and not Enchanted cards.

The cards have promo numbers 18 to 23 from Promo Set 1 (P1). We’ve had promos from 1 to 12. The last was Goofy Musketeer from gamescom 2023. That means we can expect at least five more promo cards soonish.

It comes with all six cards (not a random pick), plus four booster packs of Rise of the Floodborn. These versions of the cards are exclusive to the Collection Set and can’t be pulled from the main Rise of the Floodborn set boosters or other products.

It’s a similar setup and box to the Gift Set from The First Chapter but without tokens. This setup with more cards and no play tokens seems better for collectors and as a nice gift to add on for people buying packs or decks.

As with all Enchanted cards so far, the four cards that are from RotB will be available in the main set in standard or foiled versions in normal booster packs

Lorcana Set 2 New Card Reveals

In the official press release, we got to see six brand new cards for Rise of the Floodborn, then another seven were shown on various websites. Check out all of the thirteen new cards below. There are also a few cards we’ve found the names or hints for further down.

You can click the image to increase it’s size, or the name to see more detailed stats. While you’re here, take a look at our Lorcana card list with tonnes of ways to filter and find the right cards.

New Keyword Ability – Resist

Both Cinderella – Stouthearted and Tiana – Celebrating Princess have the new Keyword Resist. This states Resist +2 (Damage dealt to this character is reduced by 2.)

That means damage from any source is reduced by that amount. So whether they are being challenged, challenging, being damaged by items, songs, or effects. This is a really good keyword and something we’ll probably see a lot of.

Lorcana Rise of the Floodborn Leaked Cards

There are more cards we know exist from the art but don’t have rules text or full card images for. Some of these come from box art shown in the official images.

More leaked set 2 cards come from a now unavailable Instagram story by Matthew Robert Davies. He is the artist for the Enchanted Elsa and more TFC cards, plus five of the newly revealed Set 2 cards. He was attending The Big Christmas Press Show, an exhibition in central London showing off Christmas gifts and trends.

Lorcana and Ravensburger were in attendance, and all of the products for Rise of the Floodborn and Disney Lorcana: Disney100 were there. Matt opened a display case and picked up and showed us some of the products with some extra info!

Update: A video from Arkham Chronicle on YouTube has clearer images of the back of the starter deck Trove, and sleeved packs. We wrote another article with our guess on who we think the Amethyst card is too.

There are a few interesting things to note about the cards and images. Cinderella – Stouthearted is the first Lorcana card with a Knight classification. The product art of the ink columns seems to be merged, rather than separate ink colors like in set 1.

The Beast on the Playmat is a stone version that looks much like a traditional Gargoyle. His gothic castle in the movie had stone Gargoyles, which were actually based on early concept art versions of the Beast himself!

Rise of the Floodborn Lore + Floodborn Origins

The official news release from the Disney Lorcana website gave us some more information on the lore with the background of the ink flood:

“This set dips into the inky origins of Floodborn glimmers. The six magical inks… Amber, Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Steel, were released in a mixed-up chaotic form, resulting in a mysterious flood which damaged the Great Illuminary.”

“When storyborn or dreamborn glimmers encounter this mixed ink, they surge with a power that changes them, transforming them into floodborn glimmers. As the magical ink poured out of the illuminary, treasured lore went with it, including King Triton’s powerful trident.”

We’ve yet to publish our big summary of the story from The First Chapter, but this sheds light on the flood. It looks like the lore items got lost – or maybe taken… – in the ink flood that also caused the Floodborn versions of characters.

There are some items in the art that are also present in the first set, we’ll go back and get something out about this soon.

  • Beauty and the Beast

  • The Princess and the Frog
  • Winnie the Pooh

When + How To Pre-Order Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn + Disney100 Collector’s Edition

As ever, we suggest speaking to your friendly local games store. If you attend the regular Lorcana League events or competitive events at your local store, they’ll know when pre-orders wil be opening up.

Stores often prioritize local, regular players for product releases so this is the best way to ensure you can get some packs to play on the release date. Still, it’s going to be very tight. You’ve probably experienced or heard that the first set of Lorcana is sold out everywhere.

We expect that Rise of the Floodborn will likely have more products and packs available than The First Chapter, but we still expect widescale difficulty getting cards. It is very likely that there will also be waves of product coming in the months after release.

Your best bet for pre-ordering Rise of the Floodborn will be your local game store. Any big boxes or online stores you’ve found that had set 1 will likely have set 2. We will announce when pre-orders have started to be made more widely available.

In the UK and Europe there has been some light restocks of The First Chapter at local game stores and sporadic stock availability in a few stores. The the USA there is official word that a restock of booster boxes only is due in mid-October.

There will then be more of The First Chapter available in January. It seems like that will be the full range of products. Even then, it will get bought up by players who still need cards.

We expect many more card reveals over the next couple of months – remember to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or bookmark the site and come back!
