The Beauty and the Beast franchise, based on the classic French fairy tale, centers around Belle, a kind and intelligent young woman, and the Beast, a prince cursed to live in a monstrous form until he learns to love and be loved in return.
The story gained worldwide recognition with Disney’s 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast, which became a cultural phenomenon and the first animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
The franchise expanded with several sequels and spin-offs, including Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997) and Belle’s Magical World (1998), both direct-to-video releases that explore new adventures within the enchanted castle.
